During the summer, our ladies and gentlemen's hair goes through a lot of battles due to sun, chlorine, and saltwater for those who like to swim. Wearing braids or Locs can be challenging so it’s essential to keep your scalp clean while preventing any buildup.

Washing Hair Braids/Locs

Washing braids or locs too often may actually dry them out because it would take longer for the scalp’s natural oils to flow down to your hair. The best way to boost your hair’s health is to space out showers and allow your natural oils to work their magic. Stay away from shampoos and conditioners that leave residue on your hair. We always recommend using a sulfate free shampoo. There are hair products on the market such as Pink Shea Butter Coconut Oil Moisturizing Shampoo from Luster’s Products, that are helpful in hydrating your hair, making it easier to style. These products will help cleanse your hair and scalp to remove built-up.
